Black Bet
A bet that the next number hit will be black.

Column Bet
A bet that the next number hit will be in the column chosen, there are three columns of 12 numbers on the layout.

Combination Bet
A single wager made on more than one number.

Corner Bet (Square Bet or Quarter Bet)
One wager made on four numbers in a square.

Dealer (Croupier)
The casino employee who runs the Roulette game.

Double Zero
The number (00) on the American Roulette wheel.

Dozen Bet
A single bet on twelve numbers (1-12, 13-24, or 25-36).

En Prison Rule
In European casinos when a green (zero) is the winning number the player is offered the choice of surrendering half of the bet or allowing the bet to be imprisoned for another spin. If on the next spin the bet wins the entire wager is returned (without the usual payoff).

European Wheel
A Roulette wheel with 37 numbers (1 to 36 and 0).

Even (Number) Bet
A single wager made on 18 numbers that an even number will win on the next spin.

Even-Odd Bet
A bet that the next number hit will be even (or odd).

Five-Number Bet
A single wager that 0, 00, 1, 2, or 3 will hit next. This is the single worst bet in roulette, with a casino edge of 7.89%.

High Bet
A wager that one of the upper 18 numbers (19-36) will win.

High-Low Bet
A bet that one of 18 numbers (1-18 or 19-36) will win.

Inside Bet
A bet placed on numbers on the inside of the roulette table layout. Inside bets include: one, two, three, four, five and six number bets.

Line Bet
A bet that one of six numbers (two rows of three numbers) will win.

Low Bet
A bet that one of the low numbers (1-18) will win.

Odd-Number Bet
A bet that the next number hit will be odd.

Outside Bet
A bet found on the outside of the Roulette layout. Outside bets include: Dozens, Odd or Even, Red or Black and Column bets.

Parlay or Press
To increase the amount wagered, usually by doubling it, after a win.

Quarter Bet (Corner Bet or Square Bet)
One wager made on four numbers in a square.

Red Bet

Red-Black Bet
An 18 number bet that the next number hit will be Red (or Black).
